This has got to be the best theme that I've found thus far. Looks absolutely wonderful with "The days of grays" gtk theme to make a wonderful, dark interface. There are a few things that I found to be a little off with it though. First, the color for the inactive window is a bit too dark by default [if you have a dark wallpaper, which is easily remedied through emerald's theme editor] Secondly, the buttons, though I know which is which, it'd be kind of nice if they had symbols on them. But those are minor, overall, this theme rocks =D

I have set the inactive window color while using a light blue background though, as you said,you can easily change it by the emerald setting. As for the buttons I have used that kind just to make it different :)

I am not on lucid yet,I have had a similar problem on intrepid, be sure to have fusion icon installed, open it and select emerald as windows manager. In addition try restarting x.

Ok verified it: it seems to be a recent bug in Lucid: when you launch emerald and select a theme it sudden closes with no warns although the new theme applies and works. You will need to launch emerald again to make changes. Sorry but that's not my fault . :)

perhaps this will help too.

Make sure you have this package installed:
compiz-config-settings-manager

then in System > Preferences > Compiz Config Settings Manager go to Effects section and enable Windows Decoration, now, enter to it's config and in Command enter: emerald --replace (if is no already there ;) ).

Hope it helps, and, I apologize if my english is not accurate

Yes that's right or you can also install compiz fusion icon from the package manager, and set everything from there.

I made some colored buttons for it and wanted to upload this here, but don't want to register yet another account that I'll only use once and I didn't wont to create another theme.
I see that I can't even add a picture to this comment, so it's my profile photo ;-). For such a graphical site, that's ironic.

Thanks for a great theme, Puli. I use it on both my lap- & desktop installs of Karmic. My preference is for the yellow window titles, but both are great! It's nice to have an Emerald theme that is easy-on-the-eyes in terms of contrast and avoiding window content distraction, and also easy-on-the-eyes in terms of refined elegance. Good job! :)

Make sure to have emerald installed then open it and select the theme.
You may need to install icon fusion and select emerald as windows decorator.
